Primary Petition Official Signature Portal

Washington, D.C. election law requires strict safeguards for nominating petitions to protect voters, ensure fairness, and prevent fraud. For primary elections, only voters registered in the same political party may sign, and every signature must be personally witnessed and affirmed under penalty of perjury.

Because this petition is signed electronically, District rules require each signer to act as their own petition circulator. This ensures the signature is authentic, voluntary, and lawfully collected. Typed or automated signatures are not permitted, and signer information may not be altered after signing.

These requirements are not imposed by the campaign. They are enforced by the D.C. Board of Elections and are applied equally to all candidates. Following them carefully protects your signature, protects the integrity of the election, and ensures every valid voice is counted.

Thank you for taking the time to participate correctly and lawfully in the democratic process.
